Sailor Mercy Elderberry Syrup Making Kits are made with only the finest, high end, organic, dried ingredients. They include:

Organic ginger

Directions: Pour contents of bag into a pot with 5 cups water (6 for more juice consistency). Bring to a boil and then cover. Reduce to a LOW simmer for 40 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool to room temperature. Pour through a fine mesh strainer or squeeze through cheese cloth into a bowl. Smash remaining berries to extract more liquid. Discard the leftover berry mash. Add 1 ½ cups of honey (about 1 - 16oz bottle) or sweetener of choice and stir well. Pour liquid into a jar with lid and store in the refrigerator. Keeps up to 3 months when refrigerated properly.

32oz Instant Pot Preparation: Pour contents of bag into Instant Pot and add 5 cups water (6 for more juice consistency). Place lid on and set vent to “Sealing”. Cook on “Manual” for 5 minutes. Do a quick pressure release, remove the lid, and set to “Saute”. Boil the syrup for 5-8 minutes. Pour through a fine mesh strainer or squeeze through cheese cloth into a bowl. Smash remaining berries to extract more liquid. Discard the leftover berry mash. Add 1 ½ cups of honey (about one full 16oz bottle) or sweetener of choice and stir well. Pour liquid into a jar with lid and store in the refrigerator.

You can drink it straight as a supplement, or add it to oatmeal, apple juice, applesauce, ice cream, yogurt, maple syrup, granola, waffles, sparkling water … or be as creative as you like (our syrup is known to have made the occasional appearance in champagne and cocktail recipes from time to time as well)
 
Our Story: Dani began making Sailor Mercy Elderberry Syrup last fall after her oldest son Thatcher missed his 3rd day of Kindergarten with sickness. She knew she had to do something for her family's health, and with the cost of doctor visits she wanted something homeopathic as she believes in both natural treatments and modern day medicine. She had no intentions of selling, but after seeing how well it worked for her family, friends and loved ones were quickly asking for bottles too. And that's how Sailor Mercy was born.
 
Suggested Dosing:
-For daily maintenance: ages 1-6 years take 1 tsp daily, 7-12 years take 2 tsp daily, 13+ take 1 tbsp daily.
-Intensive use: ages 1-6 years take 1 tsp 3 times daily, 7-12 years take 2 tsp 3 times daily, and 13+ take 1 tbsp 3 times daily.
 
Package weight is 6oz of dry ingredients.  Recipe makes approximately 32 oz of syrup.
 
Your DIY kit will last for one year unopened and stored in a cool, dark place.  Syrup will keep up to 3 months when refrigerated properly.
